Slurping Tea in the caves for almost Two decades

We have been slurping tea in the caves for almost 2 decades since 1999 when we first started trading in tea. Yes, we are referring to our manual home “door to door” tea trading since 1999 and later through online medium via our Thunderbolt Tea’s website starting 2004. Know what, we stuck to the old school, very basic, static html based site for 14 years – Wow! But with time and advancement in technology, we are forced to bid farewell to the old buddy and hug the new one. Yes, we are now out with a brand new site with better working capabilities for ourselves, better tea shopping experience for you and an easy to manage and render customer service. 

We have tried our best to embrace the essentials in making things work right. Though our Darjeeling Tea varieties have always been appreciated by our friends and tea lovers, a better technology was needed to support our business in terms of both service and platform for selling. The new site is capable of easing both the customer front as well as us in helping us function smoothly.

Things we have implemented on the new site

1. You own account section:
   Previously, there was no such thing and every time a customer had to enter each and every detail on each ordering. There was no clue of one’s previous orders. Now you have your own account and see all your tea orders under the hood. 
2. Tracking Orders:
   Now customers can track their orders from their account section and don’t have to take the trouble of writing to us requesting tracking numbers. This was lame we know and now you won’t have that trouble.
3. Support / Help:
   Previously, every time you needed support, you had to email us and explain things. We had lame mail server issues where emails were having delivery problems due to buggy and low grade servers. Now you can opt for Support right from your account section or by clicking the support link.
4. Simple site as always:
   Our site has always been simple and with the same idea we have created a simple site without much of a fuss when seen from client’s overview. Its simple to navigate and order. Shopping is easy – Just create an account then head on to our main Tea Shop page and choose teas from the three flushes or tea seasons.
5. Some Perks for you:
   We have introduced a Tea Reward system where you can earn points known as “ThunderPoints” on each of your purchase. The Points earned can be used for your next purchase. And the first perk comes when you register or create an account for the first time. You will be awarded 300 ThunderPoints equivalent to $30 which you can use it for your Second purchase. All for registering with us!

6. FAQ section included:
   We have also implemented a FAQ section page if you have any doubt. If none answers your query you can always reach out to us by visiting our support page.

7. For Darjeeling Newbies:
   For tea lovers new to Darjeeling, it can be overwhelming to choose the right tea. We have just the section for you which can help choose tea and make your life easier.
8. Lastly, our New Logo:
   Yes, we have changed our Thunderbolt Tea logo to more simplified format. We loved the previous logo, but the complexity was a little drawback. The new logo depicts a thunderbolt in the middle of a tea leaf if you observe. Hope you like it!

Thank you so so so much for coping up with our inabilities (technology based restrictions) and for being there with us through thick and thin. We basically sold from a cave! Without you we would still be in the caves 🙂
