Shipping update and Teas thats gone out of stock

Three of our lovely teas have now gone out of stock – Giddapahar FTGFOP1 CH Special and Castleton Moonlight Imperial tea from Darjeeling First Flush and Arya Moonbeam Tea from Darjeeling Second Flush.

We will try and sample these teas from the new tea season. Darjeeling First Flush 2019 is right round the corner. We got some early First Flush tea samples and we did a round of tea tasting session – I say we wait for a few more days as Darjeeling’s temperature is still low, inhibiting proper tea growth. Yes, we received some decent amount of rain, but tea just doesn’t work if it’s only rain, it also needs some sun to bloom to glory. At the moment, the tea samples we have received are lacking in the real First Flush characteristics. And regarding the new Darjeeling Second Flush, it will commence after the Fist Flush and the “banji” period is over.

We will definitely update you once we are done procuring those super duper 🙂 quality heaps of Darjeeling First Flush teas. After all, we only want you to be sipping what the industry manifests best.

We kindly request you to have some patience for the best to come and the best is yet to come. There is a local saying here in Darjeeling, “Hurry, spoils the curry” and I guess it’s right looking at the current situation of Darjeeling Tea First Flush season.

Shipping modes for recent tea orders

We received some emails asking clarification of tea shipping modes for teas ordered. If you are in possession of one of our discount coupons and you have applied while purchasing, we will look at your actual and final total order value and dispatch your tea accordingly. You may get an option to choose various shipping modes before you apply the coupon which is ok to choose any. Finally, we will decide which mode your tea shipping is eligible for according to your final total order.

This is because say, for example, you are eligible for free shipping by Expedited Services such as DHL before applying the coupon. After the coupon gets applied, you will still be eligible for the same but your actual order value now gets lowered. Imagine you do a total discounted order value of say $50, DHL etc. charges us a shipping charge of around $30-50. It will be impossible for us to send you the tea parcel via DHL having a total order value of $50. No, No you will be eligible for free shipping, but we will send it by India Air Post rather than DHL. Hope you will understand the problem and will co-operate with us. No worries, we are not asking you for any extra shipping cost, we are just informing you that your tea order’s actual order value will decide which free shipping mode you will be eligible for.
